Early Life and Family

Simarjeet Singh was born in Delhi, India, on January 17, 1998. He was raised in a Sikh household that valued sports and discipline. Simarjeet was raised in a secure and orderly environment thanks to his father, Surinder Singh, who was an officer in the Delhi Police. Gurmeet Kaur, his mother, has been a homemaker and a pillar of support for him during his cricket career.

Although he is not as well-known in cricket, Simarjeet's brother Harsimran Singh is still very much a part of his life. Through the highs and lows of Simarjeet's career, the Singh family has stayed close.

Cricketing Journey

Simarjeet's cricket career started on the domestic circuit in Delhi, where his disciplined line and length won over selectors. In the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, he made his first-class debut after making his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was selected for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup with the India U-23 team due to his steady local play.

Simarjeet was selected as one of the backup bowlers for India's 2021 Sri Lankan tour. Due to injuries and COVID-related concerns, he was formally recruited to the squad during the tour, which was his first experience playing cricket at the international level.

Later, Simarjeet was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where he played in 2021 and 2022 but saw little action. His abilities were being recognised on the local and franchise circuits at the time, despite his lack of IPL exposure.

Breakthrough with Sunrisers Hyderabad (2025)

When Simarjeet Singh was selected by Sunrisers Hyderabad prior to the 2025 IPL season, it marked a sea change in his career. Simarjeet's quick seam movement and control were viewed favourably by the team, which is renowned for supporting young, disciplined pacers.

Working with seasoned bowlers like Pat Cummins and T Natarajan, Simarjeet emerged as a key component of the SRH pace attack during the 2025 campaign. He bowled with great control in high-pressure overs, had a clean economy, and took some significant wickets in the powerplay. Role on the SRH Team

Simarjeet has played the roles of new ball enforcer and middle-overs pacer for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite not being the most well-known fast bowler, he was a vital support bowler because of his self-control, versatility, and capacity to generate pressure.
